When “The Law” Breaks the Law
The Wild West was won by a remarkably small number of folks smart enough to bring along:
1. A Bible,
2. A Colt revolver,
3. A good horse, and
4. A sturdy copy of Blackstone’s Commentaries on the Laws of England
They settled lawless cowtowns like Tombstone and Dodge City – not with faster guns and bigger fists, but with popular support of the local townsfolk who believed in the principles of Justice found in those two books: Bible and Blackstone.
